What is dps-Select?

The Discretionary Platform Service (dps) provides Advisers and Wealth Managers with an online platform on which they can provide a transparent end-to-end discretionary investment management solution for their clients.

How does it work?

The Discretionary Manager will create a range of models which are made available via the platform. The Adviser can then select one or more of these models into which your client should be invested. The models can be rebalanced each day, or as required, which automatically identifies the trades required to bring the Investor’s assets in line with the Discretionary Manager’s defined model allocation. Once the trades are confirmed each individual Investor account is updated.

Who is the service for?

Financial Advisers and Wealth Managers who are looking to change their investment proposition to provide their clients with professionally managed portfolios by investment professionals without becoming discretionary managers themselves.

Discretionary Managers

If you already have the required regulatory permissions to run your own discretionary client portfolios, then you can use the dps to efficiently manage those models. Having the relevant permissions, you can use the customisation options to personalise each investor’s portfolio.

• The Discretionary Manager will run a series of mandates for a firm or make them available to all Advisers

Once an agreement has been reached with the Discretionary Manager they will design and run a set of mandates for your clients. Alternatively, you can access a range of models provided by other Discretionary Managers.

If you are looking to move your firm towards Discretionary Management, then you can use the dps platform using existing Discretionary Managers before you gain the required permissions to take over the running of your client portfolios.
