Lord Brabourne

Chairman

Lord Brabourne (formerly Lord Romsey, prior to his father's death on 22nd September 2005) has extensive experience within the media industries, from early beginnings as a programme researcher for the Australian Broadcasting Commission in Sydney and Southern Television in Southampton, UK, to working as location manager, production manager and associate producer on film and television productions such as ‘Murder on the Orient Express', ‘A Bridge Too Far', ‘Death on the Nile' and ‘Alfie Darling'.

He was a Director of Capital Radio from 1974 to 1986. 

In 1980 Lord Brabourne was a founder Director and shareholder of Satellite Television plc, which became Sky Television and is now BskyB. He remained on the Board until 1989.

He created a commercial radio business, ‘Broadhatch Communications', in 1983 with other family shareholders which was acquired by Crown Communications in 1986. In 1990 he acquired Crown Communications' interest with Southern Radio Limited, and was actively involved in the reverse take over of Invicta Radio plc in 1991 which created Southern Radio plc, a substantial publicly quoted radio group covering the South East of Great Britain. The company was bought by Capital Radio in 1994.

In 1981 Lord Brabourne was founding Chairman and shareholder of the Britt Allcroft Group, which became a successful children's character and merchandising business. In 2002 the company, then called Gullane Entertainment, merged with Hit Entertainment to create the largest children's television entertainment and copyright business in Europe. Lord Brabourne is currently a director, formerly Chairman, of Coolabi plc, a children's entertainment business.

Lord Brabourne joined Lloyd's, as a name, in 1985 and became a Director and shareholder of Harrison Brothers (Member's Agent) shortly thereafter. He was appointed a Director of Argenta Private Capital Limited (formerly SOC Private Capital) in 1999 and became Chairman in 2001. He became Chairman of Argenta Holdings plc (formerly SOC Group plc) in 2004.

As owner of Broadlands, the home of the late Earl Mountbatten of Burma, he has direct experience of the challenges of maintaining and running a historic home together with its sizeable agricultural estate. Lord Brabourne is married with two surviving, grown up children.


Arthur Naoumidis

Group Chief Executive Officer

Using experience gained over 5 years building and managing portfolio services at JBWere and BNP Paribas, Præmium is the result of Arthur's vision of merging the latest in web technology and CGT portfolio techniques to deliver a revolutionary service for the investor market.

Arthur's initial background was business systems consulting and development having cut his teeth as a consultant with the precursor to Accenture for the first 5 years of his working life. A subsequent 10 year stint as an independent IT consultant to some of the world's largest investment banks in London provides Arthur with a strong business systems and technology background.


David Harrison MA FCA

Non-Executive Director

David Harrison was educated at Westminster School and Christ Church, Oxford where he gained an Honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1964 and was subsequently appointed a partner in the family firm of Harrison Son Hill & Co. where he remained in practice until 1976 when the firm merged with RSM Robson Rhodes.

David had previously joined the Lloyd's of London insurance market as an Underwriting Member in 1970. In 1977, he founded the eponymous Underwriting Agency of Harrison Brothers where he was Chairman and Chief Executive for more than 22 years, building the Company up to a premium income under management of £168,000,000. Harrison Brothers merged with Sedgwick Oakwood Capital Plc in 1999 where David continues as Deputy Chairman of the Company, now renamed Argenta Private Capital Ltd. In 2007 Argenta will have an annual premium income under management approaching £1bn.

In 1999 David realised the potential of selling insurance products on the internet and founded Insurancewide.com Services Ltd. He continues to be Chairman of the Company which is now one of the three foremost Aggregators in the UK with an annual premium income approaching £20m.

David was appointed a non-executive Director of Præmium Portfolio Services Ltd and SMArt Operators Ltd on 30th November 2006.


Roland Ward

Non-Executive Director 

After graduating with an engineering degree from Imperial College London Roland Ward joined Ford Motor Company where he worked on new car designs.

Roland left Ford to join Bank of America in London and worked in various managerial positions focusing on treasury and investments. He was appointed General Manager of the Bank's operations in Switzerland where he developed their Private Banking and Trade Finance business. Roland was also Executive Assistant to the President and was seconded to the White House in Washington for a short assignment on President Reagan's Private Sector initiative for Public Health.

He left Bank of America to join Salomon Bros in London as part of the team that launched The Mortgage Corporation and was very active in developing the Mortgage Backed Securities Market.

Roland joined Clerical Medical Investment Group in 1996 as Finance Director and worked on CMIG's demutualisation and acquisition by Halifax. Following the merger of Halifax with Bank of Scotland Roland served as Finance Director, Financial Services and as a Director of various other group companies including Chairman of the international operations where he was instrumental in developing the European business.

Roland has served as a director of a number of Gloucestershire based enterprises including The Gloucester Royal Hospital, The Gloucestershire Development Agency and The Training and Enterprise Council.

Roland is married with two children, lives in Gloucestershire and is a keen golfer.
 

John Martin

Managing Director

John Martin joined Præmium with over 20 years experience in running IFA businesses. John has held senior management positions in national IFAs and established two IFA businesses including City IFA Radcliffe & Newlands where he remains a director. He is co-founder of Market-Share, a consultancy to new providers on distribution, and played a major part in the development and launch of the first online property stock exchange.

Gary Wilson

Chief Operating Officer

Gary has over 20 years experience in financial and operational management of start up technology companies in the UK and International markets, overseeing their rapid growth to full market listing. He started his career in technology with Admiral plc (now part of LogicaCMG) where he played an instrumental part in their LSE debut. In the role of Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer, Gary went on to set up two venture capital backed European CRM businesses which became market leaders in their respective field.

After a short break from technology he steered his interests towards property investment when he joined a privately owned property investment group as Finance Director. Gary's exposure to dynamic business growth, acquisitions and market listings provide a solid platform to guide and manage the finances of Præmium. Gary holds the professional accreditation of FCCA.
