John began a career in financial services 24 years ago. He progressed from sales to management and has held senior positions in national IFAs. He has established two IFA businesses including a city based IFA, where he remains a director. It was an interest in product design and the role technology would play in providing greater control for advisers which led John to Præmium in 2005. Already a successful technology business, Præmium floated on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2006 to launch the new UK business and shortly after John joined the team, taking over as Managing Director and then overseeing the first product launch in November 2008.
Gary has over 20 years experience in financial and operational management of start up technology companies in the UK and International markets, overseeing their rapid growth to full market listing. He started his career in technology with Admiral plc (now part of LogicaCMG) where he played an instrumental part in their LSE debut. In the role of Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer, Gary went on to set up two venture capital backed European CRM businesses which became market leaders in their respective field.
After a short break from technology he steered his interests towards property investment when he joined a privately owned property investment group as Finance Director. Gary's exposure to dynamic business growth, acquisitions and market listings provide a solid platform to guide and manage the finances of Præmium. Gary holds the professional accreditation of FCCA.
Since qualification as a solicitor in 1993, Mr Brewis has worked for two international UK law firms, Linklaters and Wragge & Co. Including two secondments, one to BUPA and one to Shell. Since the start of his legal career he has been closely involved with funds and financial services clients practicing extensively as a Corporate Lawyer with a focus on investment trusts, financial intermediaries, insurers and other regulated businesses as well as general capital raisings (listed and off-market), M&A and joint ventures. Most recently he set up and led a financial services team at Wragge & Co handled general regulatory and compliance as well as transactional work for financial services clients.
Before joining Præmium as its Head of Legal Services in the UK in September 2008, Mr Brewis acted as the company's external legal adviser since the time of its first steps to enter the UK market. He was instrumental in the development of the SMARTfund as an authorised unit trust and accordingly has a strong understanding of the unique issues that affect company’s product range.
Stephen Forbes-Buckingham joined Præmium in December 2010. With over 25 years' experience in the financial services arena, Stephen joined as Head of Operations before taking over as Chief Operating Officer in July 2011. Stephen spent the previous ten years working for Edward Jones in the UK as Head of Operations where he was responsible for all areas of the Operations and trading divisions within the UK. Prior to this Stephen held senior roles within Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.
Stephen has played an active role in the retail market as a member of APCIMS, EMX standards board and is a member of the Securities Institute.
