Features of SMARTfunds?
SMARTfunds are a new breed of Authorised Unit Trust. By incorporating the benefits of Separately Managed Account technology with an Authorised Collective Investment Scheme legal structure, SMARTfunds delivers cost-efficient and transparent funds via an online investment platform.
Via the SMARTfund Service, Præmium can create, manage and host an AUT with your branding and supported by a cost-effective, comprehensive reporting platform. Alternatively, suitably authorised firms can become distributors of 'SMARTfund Advantage', Præmium’s own authorised collective that is operated using its proprietary technology.
Funds that are created using the SMARTfund Service (we call them SMARTfunds) will be structured to be eligible for approval by the FSA as Authorised Unit Trust. Once approved, your SMARTfund will be treated in the same way as any other Authorised Unit Trust.
The primary objectives of the SMARTfund approach are to:
- Reduce cost of delivery of product to the Investor
- Increase the control the Adviser has over client funds
- Provide wider distribution for the Investment Manager
Branding
New SMARTfunds can be branded in the name of the adviser or the name of the Investment Manager. Alternatively, for advisers wishing to use SMARTfunds but do not require branding, or Investment Managers who wish to distribute investment models, we can discuss the inclusion of preferred investment models or the creation of sub-funds within the Præmium SMARTfund Advantage.
